Because we will be away over the Christmas holiday we find ourselves hosting family and friends for dinner, drinks and just generally hanging out by the glow of the Christmas tree as much as possible.
Our kids are excited about going to Argentina and being at the beach but they are torn because they have a strong connection to their family as well and want to hang out with their cousins and Grandparents. As parents who feel very strongly about the notion of "tradition" we are hosting a very early Christmas dinner here December 4th so the kids can exchange gifts and we can celebrate all the December birthdays. There is no way our kids are letting us off the hook this year.

The First Big Snowfall of Winter
With only 20 days until we leave on our trip I was foolishly thinking we might get out of here without seeing any snow. Boy was I wrong! Monday I went for a run in my shorts and a tank top and Tuesday morning we woke to this!! .......... BLECK

Here we go again!
We are setting off on a new adventure December 7th. We are busily making lists, canceling the newspaper, packing up our gear and letting the kids teachers know they will be missing a little school before the Christmas break.
Hollis is now 14, Bowen is 9 and Remy and I? Well..... we just keep getting younger.
